One of my favorite historical characters is Henry Flagler. Being from Florida, it is truly amazing to see the impact he had on my state, but one of the most interesting things in his history is his dream of extending his railroad from Miami down to Key West, despite all of the geographical, meterological, and laborious hurdles that stood in his way. This book gave a great history on this project.
Filled with photographs and displays from the railroad, this book is great. At only 52 pages, it was a quick but joyous read that allowed me to really dive deeper into this part of Florida's history. I actually picked this book up when my wife and I toured Whitehall, Flagler's house on Palm Beach that he made for his wife. I guess that made it a little more sentimental.
If you know nothing about Flagler's Folly or are just wanting to learn more, check this book out.
I love to read and to discuss books. My preferred genre is sci-fi but I like to read mostly anything.
